How to care for your vinyl flooring
We have some easy tasks and tips that will help protect the look and longevity of your new vinyl, even if your time is limited! While you don't need to spend a lot of time caring for your vinyl flooring, there are some basic things you should do regularly to keep it looking great.
Vinyl Maintenance Tips
New vinyl floors are extremely durable and long lasting, but like any floor covering they still need regular maintenance to stay looking like new.Â
Invest in a high-quality broom and sweep your vinyl floor regularly. If you choose to use a vacuum to clean your vinyl floors, don't use a vacuum with a beater bar.
Use a mop for occasionally cleaning, and use a manufacturer-approved cleaning product when needed. Never use abrasive cleaners, soaps, paste waxes, or solvents on your vinyl floor.
Vinyl Spills & Stains
Most spills on vinyl flooring can simply be wiped up, but be sure to clean up spills immediately since liquid spills can make your flooring slippery.
For stubborn stains like chewing gum or candle wax try using a credit card to gently scrape the spot away from the floor.  For other common stains, consult with your manufacturer’s guidelines.  Â
