How to care for your hardwood flooring
We have some easy tasks and tips that will help protect the look and longevity of your new hardwood, even if your time is limited! While you don't need to spend a lot of time caring for your hardwood flooring, there are some basic things you should do regularly to keep it looking great.
Hardwood Maintenance Tips
Invest in a high-quality broom and sweep your hardwood regularly. If you choose to use a vacuum to clean your hardwood floors, don't use a vacuum with a beater bar.
Use a manufacturer-approved cleaning product when needed.
Hardwood Spills & Stains
Most spills on hardwood floors can simply be wiped up, but be sure to clean up spills immediately since most hardwood flooring is not water-resistant.
For stubborn stains like chewing gum or candle wax try using a credit card to gently scrape the spot away from the floor.  For other common stains, consult with your manufacturer’s guidelines.  Â
